Christian Writers Fellowship International is a multi-service ministry to Christians in publishing. For 30 years we have encouraged and equipped writers to minister to readers with writing of the highest biblical and professional standards. We encourage them to make Jesus Christ - His love and gift of salvation - the centerpiece of every writing, teaching, and speaking opportunity. We urge them to use their writing and speaking gifts to do their part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. —ROMANS 10:18, NIV

Cecil B. Murphey Foundation Provides 10 Scholarships for Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference in 2009

Again this year,  Cec Murphey has asked CWFI to oversee the granting of 10 scholarships for the 2009 Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference.

Blue Ridge is a premier conference on the East Coast. It is scheduled for May 17-21, 2009. Check page 12 of this issue for more details. Terms for the scholarships are the same as last year. All room, board and tuition costs will be paid by the Cecil B. Murphey Foundation. Winners are responsible only for travel costs to and from the conference.

If you have writer-friends who are not members of the CWFI Family, but who would benefit from this opportunity, please pass along information to them or send them to the CWFI home page: www.cwfi-online.org for complete details and instructions. Specs are as follows:

  1. Give your name and full contact information: address, telephone number and email address if you have one. You don’t want to take a chance on losing a scholarship because we’re unable to contact you.

  2. Tell us whether you’ve ever been published and paid for your work.

  3. Tell us whether you’ve ever attended a writers conference. If so, where and when?

  4. In 50 words or less, tell us why you want to attend the Blue Ridge conference.

  5. Submit your entry in hard copy to CWFI, 1624 Jefferson Davis Rd., Clinton, SC 29325 and mark your envelope: BRMCWC Scholarship.

The deadline for entries is Feb.15, 2009. Rooms for winners will be double-occupancy, and scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and close attention to entry instructions.

We will announce the 10 winners and 2 alternates in the March/April 2009 issue of Cross & Quill and on the CWFI Web site.
